Estonia is the least populated Baltic country and the northernmost lands that once belonged to Poland. This country boasts picturesque and varied landscapes. Estonia has forests, swamps, lakes, and monuments (churches, fortifications, castles). Unspoilt nature and cultural heritage are protected in open-air museums, parks and reserves. The country has as many as 1500 islands.

Climate
Estonia’s climate is described as cool temperate with rather low temperatures. In February, the average temperature on the coast is -1°C. However, in the warmest month (July), the mercury does not exceed 17-19°C. Hot weather is rare.
Nature
Estonia is a land of bays, lush forests, vast wetlands, forested meadows, limestone cliffs, lakes and islands, somewhat reminiscent of the Scandinavian archipelagos. It is a very diverse landscape, creating one of the most beautiful corners of Europe.

Tallinn – Capital
Tallinn -The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most beautiful attractions and monuments of Tallinn can be found in the Old Town, which is divided into Lower and Upper. It makes the greatest impression on a clear day, when rich colors interpenetrate, creating an extremely colorful light mosaic. This can be seen on the Town Hall Square, which is the central point of the Lower Town and the entire Old Town. It is filled with simple but very elegant tenement houses and the town hall with a characteristic octagonal tower.

Traditional woolen products
Due to long, cold days most days of the year and winter, Estonia specializes in woolen products. In the Old Town of Tallinn, at the market square in Tartu or at ul. Rüütli in Pärnu you can easily find shops or – during fairs and festivals – stalls offering a full range of warm products: gloves, scarves, hats, scarf-hats, sweaters, socks.

Handicraft
Woolen products and handicrafts are also popular. This category includes ceramics, wooden, metal, glass and textile products, as well as jewelry and clothing decorations. Traditional clothing should also be added to this list – linen or other materials decorated with traditional patterns, e.g. scarves, shirts.
