His works are so beautiful and full of detail that I couldn’t take my eyes off them! If you’re a history enthusiast, I recommend visiting the Plantin-Moretus Museum. This unique place transports visitors back in time to the golden age of printing. Located in the former printing house and home of publisher Christoffel Plantin, the museum is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is one of the most important printing museums in the world. While visiting the Plantin-Moretus Museum, you can admire preserved printing machines, ceramic tiles, handmade wooden type cabinets, and a rich collection of ancient prints and books. This place showcases the process of printing books at a time when printing was still an art form.

Another stop on my itinerary was the Railway station. The Antwerp station is not only practical but also beautifully designed and full of life. The construction of the station was completed in 1905, and its architecture is an excellent example of Belgian architectural style called eclecticism. It is characterized by an impressive facade with a dominant dome, towers, and richly decorated details, which give it a unique elegance and monumental appearance. The interior of the station is equally impressive as its exterior architecture. High vaults, marble columns, and rich decorations make staying inside the station an unforgettable experience.

At the end of the day, I headed to the Market, also known as Grote Markt, to feel the pulse of the city and taste local delicacies. Among the numerous restaurants and cafes, I found real culinary gems of Antwerp’s culinary world. One of the most characteristic elements of the square is the town hall, built in the Renaissance style, which dominates the surroundings with its impressive architecture. Not to forget is the famous Brabo Fountain, located at one of the corners of the square. The fountain depicts the figure of the legendary hero of Antwerp, who according to legend defeated a giant and threw his hand into the river Scheldt.
