Ganshoren – a city and municipality in Belgium, one of 19 in the bilingual Brussels-Capital Region, in the Brussels-Capital District. On January 1, 2023, it had 25,548 inhabitants.This small municipality is almost completely built up, the only larger green areas are the 10 ha Albert Castle Park and the Roi Baudouin Park (Koning Boudewijnpark). Of the buildings worth seeing are Rivieren Castle and the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Sacré-Cœur / Heilig Hart) in Koekelberg, located a few meters outside the commune.Through Ganshoren runs the Avenue Charles-Quint, named after Emperor Charles V, which is an important road artery (motorway A10) towards his hometown of Ghent.
