Location
Frydek-Místek is located in the Czech region of Cieszyn Silesia, 25 km (16 miles) west of Cieszyn and south of Moravian Ostrava. It lies on the border of two historical regions: Místek is in Moravia, while Frydek is in Czech Silesia.
Frydek Castle

The castle was rebuilt from a Gothic castle founded in the 14th century. The Renaissance reconstruction was carried out by Bartoloměj Bruntálský of Vrbno at the end of the 16th century. Since 1923, the castle has belonged to the state.
The castle is currently the seat of the Beskydy Frýdek-Místek Museum, a contribution organization of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The Beskydy Museum is open year-round and offers visitors five permanent exhibitions, short-term exhibitions, study library services, participation in various educational activities (Senior Gymnasium, museum lessons for schools, lectures, guided tours, excursions) and a rich cultural program in the form of concerts, theater performances, festivals or events for families with children.
Žermanice water reservoir

Žermanice Reservoir (Czech: vodní nádrž Žermanice) is a water reservoir and dam in Lučina it was built on the Lučina River in 1951–1957 on an area of 2.48 km2 (0.96 sq mi).
The reservoir is named after the village of Žermanice. In addition to Lučina on the western shore and Žermanice on the northern shore, there are also the villages of Dolní Domaslavice and Soběšovice on the eastern shore of the reservoir. The reservoir is a popular spot for water sports and other recreational activities. The reservoir is also used to supply water for factories in Ostrava and Paskov.
Olešná Water Park

The Olešná indoor water park is able to provide unforgettable experiences for children and adults all year round with a water temperature of 30 °C. Among the many attractions we can present water fun and an adrenaline rush on a wild river, a 98-meter-long water slide, a current channel with a swinging pool, air loungers and seats, massage jets and a whirlpool. On weekends, Aquatěhobik and Aquaerobic lessons are held here.
For the youngest visitors, there is a children’s paddling pool, which is located in a separate soundproofed zone measuring 6×4 meters with a water depth of 10 to 30 centimeters and water attractions.
Spolek pro Faunapark (Association for Faunapark)

To create a pleasant and inspiring place for active recreation, education, social and personal development of local residents, visitors and tourists of Frýdek-Místek.
The association, whose members do everything voluntarily and without compensation, was enabled by the support of the Hyundai Endowment Fund not only to save and revive Faunapark, build a clubhouse, develop a community, organize many different events, but most importantly, to involve the general public in its activities.
Beskydy Museum Frýdek-Místek

The museum is housed in the Frýdek Castle in Frýdek-Místek. It includes a collection of natural science objects dealing with botany, mycology, zoology and geology from the regions of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy and the Beskydy foothills. It also documents in detail the development and status of the wilderness, societies and human labor, the historical, cultural and social development of the Frýdek-Místek district.
Kostel sv. Šimona a Judy

The branch church of St. Simon and Jude in Liskovac was first mentioned as wooden in 1581. In 1790–1791, a brick church was built with the help of the Frýdek archpriest and parish priest Josef Karl Schipp. The tower acquired its current form in 1887 thanks to the administrator of Karlova Huta and the mayor of Liskovac, Adolf Hohenegger. The interior of the church in Liskovac is most impressive with a painting on the main altar depicting the farewell of the apostles Simon and Jude and paintings of the Stations of the Cross with Czech inscriptions.
Kaplička svaté Otýlie

After years of decay, the chapel was renovated. The following legend is associated with the creation of the Chapel of St. Odilia at the end of the 19th century in Frýdek on Staroměstská Street: Originally, there was a spring with miraculous water in these places, to which the locals attributed healing properties. It has the form of a stone wall located on a slope at the source of the spring with a central chapel, in the niche of which there is a triptych depicting St. Odilia on a wooden column. The saint is depicted here as a nun holding an open book in her hand, on the pages of which are depicted eyes.
