Hengsteysee
Hengsteysee is the easternmost of the four lakes in the Ruhr area. The approximately 3.5-kilometre-long lake is located northeast of Dortmund, flows through Hagen and into the Herdecke. It is part of the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route.
A 6.5-kilometre-long hiking and cycling route, ideal for walking, running, cycling or rollerblading. There are benches and small restaurants along the path along the lake.

Elsey Abbey
Elsey Abbey, formerly Elsey Priory, is a former women’s religious house located near Elsey, now part of Hohenlimburg, Hagen. It was founded around 1220 by Friedrich von Isenberg for the Preconstratensian canonesses and endowed with the local parish church and other property.
In the 15th century, it became a house for lay canonesses of the nobility under an abbess. In the 16th century, during the Reformation, the parish became Protestant, and the abbey was eventually incorporated.
