Vibrandsøy Island

Vibrandsøy is an island that is part of the Haugesund municipality in Rogaland. The island lies west of the densely built-up Hasseløy. The island is currently used as a recreational area.

Haraldshaugen

Haraldshaugen is a grave mound on Gard in Haugesund in Rogaland. The only remains of the mound were when it served as the base of a large monument that was erected in 1872 to commemorate the Battle of Hafrsfjord and the National Assembly.
The 17-meter-high Haraldsstøtta obelisk at the top was erected in 1872 in connection with the 1000th anniversary of the National Assembly of Harald Hårfagre.
Haugalandmuseet


Haugaland Museum is a regional museum and is a merger of several museums. The regional museum for Northern Rogaland is the result of the merger of the following museums: Arquebus War History Museum, Bokn Village Museum, Haugesund Picture Gallery, Hiltahuset, Karmsund Folk Museum, Nedstrand Village Museum and Vindafjord Museum.
Karmsund Civic Museum


The museum offers exhibitions on agriculture, fishing and shipping, everyday life and the history of the city. It tells the history of both the city of Haugesund and the Haugalandet region. The sea and the herring fishery were central to the growth and development of the city. The museum also presents a rich folk art, with beautifully decorated and carefully crafted chests, cabinets, saddles, baskets and many other objects.
Haugesund Art Gallery


Haugesund Art Gallery is located in the northern part of Haugesund overlooking the city park and rose garden. The art museum dates back to the Haugesund Art Society, founded in 1913.
Rossabø Church

Haugesund Art Gallery offers a wide selection of art. The gallery regularly holds exhibitions presenting the latest trends in art. Art Gallery offers a diverse collection of Norwegian art from the 19th to the 21st century. The museum’s holdings include works by renowned artists such as Lars Hertervig, Edvard Munch, and Pablo Picasso.
The gallery comprises a two-story villa and five exhibition rooms, totaling 2,210 square meters, with 1,000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy thematic displays, sales exhibitions featuring contemporary art, and activities for children. The museum also features a shop and a cafe.
Our Savior’s Church


The Church of Our Savior is the main church of the city and is located in its center. The church was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1901 and can accommodate about 850 people. Most of the weddings and baptisms in the city take place here. The tower is 160 feet high.
