Broich Castle


The castle was built in 883 to protect the city against the raids of the Normans and survived wars and sieges. The museum in the castle exhibits the castle’s history with models, pictures and other artefacts and handled by the local history society.
Broich Castle is available for 20 to 100 people as a venue for events, presentations, Christmas and birthday parties, conferences, congresses and meetings. The magnificent surroundings are also ideal for filming and photo sessions.
Thanks to its noble panels, the Fireplace Hall is often used as a reception room. In the Heraldry Hall, meetings can be held in a historical and exquisite atmosphere. On the lower level, the Tecklenburg Rooms and the castle crypt in combination with the castle courtyard are ideal for impressive champagne receptions.
Haus Ruhrnatur

The island in Mülheim an der Ruhr, on which Haus Ruhrnatur is located, was originally formed naturally and has served various functions throughout history, including as a slaughterhouse and a place to build boats for the Ruhraaken.

Since the opening of the new Ruhr promenade in May 2014, all Ruhr tourists, boaters, and canoeists have been able to use the city harbor or the city jetty. The city harbor is located at Ruhr kilometer 12 and offers a leisure harbor with a water-hiking rest area and the city jetty, as well as a range of dining options for enjoyment and relaxation.

The Bismarckturm in Mülheim an der Ruhr is a 27.5 m high observation tower on the Kahlenberg with a view over the Ruhr.
