Regional Park of the Friulian Dolomites

This area is characterized by a wealth of wildlife, which, combined with the lack of well-equipped accommodations at high altitudes, presents a significant challenge. In fact, accommodation is limited.Most mountain huts rely on generators, and there are only eight huts in the 21,500-hectare area.
Pordenone Town Hall


Pordenone’s medieval town hall, with its distinctive loggia, is a symbol of the city.Built in the 13th century, it stands on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, at the highest point in the city, near the cathedral and the Noncello River.
The ground floor is partially enclosed by a vestibule with wide pointed arches, while the council chamber is located on the first floor. The building is complemented by a tower with a large astronomical and lunar clock.
Duomo Concattedrale di San Marco


St. Mark’s Cathedral (Duomo Concattedrale di San Marco) located in the central square of the same name, has an unfinished façade but houses a lavish interior decorated with magnificent Renaissance art and stunning frescoes.
The Cathedral of San Marco in Pordenone is the city’s main Catholic place of worship and the co-cathedral of the Friulian diocese of Concordia-Pordenone. It dates from the 13th century and is designed in a Romanesque-Gothic style.
Civic Museum of Art (Palazzo Ricchieri)


Palazzo Ricchieri houses the Pordenone Civic Museum. The building was built as a 13th-century fortress tower belonging to the Ricchieri family. The piano nobile, or main salon, is a room decorated with frescoes depicting the story of Tristan and Isolde from the early 14th century. It also features a series of small painted wooden panels depicting scenes from the period: romances, duels, hunts, and a bestiary with unicorns, dragons, and flying snakes.
In the 1950s, the remaining Ricchieri family donated most of the building to the municipality to house it as a municipal museum. The museum displays a rich collection of religious paintings, sculptures, and objects from the region.
Teatro Comunale “Giuseppe Verdi”


The Teatro Verdi is one of the most important cultural centers in the entire region. The theater’s calendar is rich in events, from music to prose, and is often enriched with additional programs that are very popular with audiences.
In addition, the theater hosts some of the most important cultural events in the city (Pordenonelegge, the Pordenone Silent Film Festival, and the Dedica Festival), as well as important national events.
Gallery Harry Bertoia


The art gallery, which currently hosts temporary exhibitions, is named after the renowned designer Harry Bertoia. He came to Pordenone in the 1930s to launch a successful creative career.
His extraordinary creative history is also evidenced by his sculptures, drawings, engravings, jewelry, and design objects, now displayed in museums around the world.
Comics Palace


It is the first cultural institution in Italy to promote art and science through comics. The International Museum of Comic Art (PAFF!), a unique venue focused on cartoon literature. The Science Center Scientific Imaginary (IS) is a museum of interactive and multimedia science, with 5 locations in Friuli Venezia Giulia: Trieste, in Pordenone, Montereale Valcellina (PN) and Tavagnacco (UD).
The center in fact, acting as a display techniques peculiar interactive museums (and the even more recent multimedia museums), with the presence of colorful interactive exhibits (hands-on exhibits) The use of informal teaching animation methodologies, or thematic workshops through small experiments tell the chemistry, physics, mathematics, archeology, astronomy, biology, ecology, paleontology, science natural and Earth.
