This area is a public beach and is supervised from mid-June to mid-September. Access for people with reduced mobility is also possible (using a beach mat).

The impressive keep in the centre of the citadel is home to the Musée Naval de Saint Tropez (maritime museum) which focuses attention on the history of the most famous town on the French Riviera and highlights of its maritime past.

Musée de la Gendarmerie et du Cinéma (Gendarmerie Nationale)

The Gendarmerie and Film Museum is a building that has become a cult place after the making of films about the French police, from 1879 to 2003 it was the headquarters of the Saint-Tropez brigade. The museum presents the history of the cult film about Saint-Tropez: “The Gendarme of Saint-Tropez”.

It shows a collection of objects, photographs and documents related to the history of the national gendarmerie. Among the many exhibits there is even a full-size sculpture of Louis de Funes, the most recognizable actor of this entertaining film.

Notre Dame de l’Assomption

The Church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption (early 19th century) is most recognizable by its bell tower, topped by a small belfry, and its Italian Baroque style. Inside, there are beautiful carved wooden elements from the Restoration period, a bust of Saint-Tropez, the centerpiece of the daring May 16–18 celebrations.

Musée de l’Annonciade (Art Museum)

In a gracefully converted 16th-century chapel, this small but famous museum showcases an impressive collection of modern art.
