Skiathos Town, being the main village of Skiathos Island, is also its cultural and entertainment center. The town offers all kinds of activities and many shops and entertainment venues.

The Old Port

The Old Port is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Skiathos. Nowadays, traditional fishing and tourist boats, water taxis and luxury yachts are moored here. Bourtzi Peninsula


Bourtzi is a small peninsula that divides the port of Skiathos into two parts: the old and the new port. It was a fortress built during the Venetian rule by the Ghisi brothers, who took over the island in 1207, after the fall of Constantinople to the Crusaders. Today, nothing remains of the fortress except traces of the walls. Today, Bourtzi is a beautiful landscape with an amazing view of the sea and a small cafe.
Agios Nikolaos


Situated on one of the three summits of the low hills of Skiathos town since 1954. The bell tower with the clock is a characteristic feature. The panoramic view from the churchyard towards the port is truly impressive. Agios Nikolaos is one of two churches that have been saved. Services are held on December 6 and May 16.
Papadiamanti Street

One of the best areas to shop in Skiathos is along the pedestrian street of Papadiamanti. You’ll find shops selling local food products, handcrafted tableware and boutique clothing. There’s also a handful of interesting little art galleries and plenty of quaint cafés.

SKIATHITIKO SPITI – It is a small family museum by the standards of houses that are exhibits themselves. Eplore history of the last century in Skiathos!That a stone-built two-storey building from 1910 in the capital of the island, which is also the only organized settlement, on Polytechniou Street, near the center.

The House of Alexander Papadiamantis is a heritage museum dedicated to one of Greece’s most significant literary figures. The museum is housed in the actual house where Papadiamantis was born, allowing visitors to enter the world that inspired many of his moving writings.
The museum not only showcases his literary works but also offers insight into the cultural and historical context of 19th-century Greece. Here you will discover a collection of photographs, personal artifacts and manuscripts that tell the story of Papadiamantis’ life and his contribution to Greek literature.
