Pont Tiszavirág

The central element of the new pedestrian and cyclist crossing connecting the centre of Szolnok with the Tiszaliget Sports and Leisure Centre is the steel Tisza Bridge. With its spreading arches, this graceful bridge, modelled on the wings of the Tisza lily insect, has become a symbol of the city’s development.
The 186-metre-long, 120-metre-high, 60-degree arch structure with two arches is 450 metres long. The production and assembly of the tubular structure with a diameter of 1,300 metres was a special task. The bridge deck is 5 metres wide and can handle 10,000 pedestrians per hour.
Szolnok Synagogue

The synagogue was built in 1898. The building, which is characterized by neo-Romanesque and neo-Moorish elements, occupies an important place in the urban landscape: it stands near the bank of the Tisza River and dominates the surroundings. Since 1972, it has served as a cultural center (exhibition gallery and concert hall). A bust of Baumhorn stands at the entrance to the former synagogue.
Szolnok City Hall

The town hall is a late eclectic style, single-storey, U-shaped building. The facade is 61 metres long on the Kossuth Square side. The left wing is fifty-five metres long, with seventeen axes and a gate in the middle. The right wing does not face the street, is undecorated and is 48 metres long. One of the most popular and entertaining elements of the annual “Town Hall Evening” is that visitors can tour the town hall/mayor’s office building.

Damjanich János Museum

The museum has six permanent exhibitions, which are of an archaeological, historical, ethnographic and fine art nature. The county’s folk art and culture are presented in the exhibitions entitled Art of Crafts and Folk Life in the Middle Tisza Region. The folk art exhibition focuses primarily on the two dominant peasant crafts, pottery and the work of the hairdressing. The permanent exhibition presenting folk life focuses on the peasant culture of the turn of the century, when traditional techniques and procedures met with new approaches and modern tools.

The sculpture of the Holy Trinity above the main entrance was put in place in 1757. The four-vaulted nave boasts eleven altars; its walls are decorated with colorful frescoes depicting the Stations of the Cross. The desktop, richly decorated with Baroque ornaments, is especially beautiful.
Szigligeti Theatre

The first theater performance in Szolnok, by Pál Szilágyi’s theater troupe, took place in the winter of 1822. The stone building—the Szolnok Municipal Theater—was only built after 90 years and operated as a guest theater until 1954, when the independent theater company was formed.
The Szolnok Szigligeti Theater is one of the most prominent theaters in Hungary. The theater opened its doors in 1912 and has been operating ever since.
