Medjugorje is a tiny town located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the border with Croatia. Hardly anyone would have heard of this city if it weren’t for an event that took place in 1981, when six local children claimed to have seen an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who introduced herself to them as the Queen of Peace and received a message of love and hope from Her.
Pilgrimages
Many parishes from various parts of Europe organize pilgrimages to Medjugorje, located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This town, next to Fatima and Lourdes, is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Europe. Inconspicuous Medjugorje is heavily besieged by believers coming from all over the world most of the year.
