Slavonski Brod is a city in eastern Croatia, the capital of Brodo-Posava County, the seat of the city of Slavonski Brod. It is located on the Sava River, right next to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Fortress Brod


Brod Fortress in Slavonski Brod, Croatia, is a well-preserved example of an 18th-century Baroque-style military fortification. Built by the Habsburg Monarchy between 1715 and 1780. Covering an area of approximately 33 hectares, the fortress features extensive earthen ramparts, bastions, and a moat. It also houses several historic buildings, including barracks, a chapel, and an armory.
- Franciscan Monastery

The Baroque-style Franciscan Monastery was also constructed in the 18th century and is rather fortress-like too, with walls that are 2 metres thick. It is the largest church in Slavonia, with a beautiful interior.
- Brod Regional Museum

The Brod Regional Museum in Slavonski Brod is a cultural institution that showcases the history and heritage of the Brod area. It houses a diverse collection of artifacts, documents, and artworks that offer insight into the region’s past.

Tambura Museum

Tambura Museum in Slavonski Brod is the world first museum dedicated to the tambura, a traditional Croatian musical instrument. The Museum in the renovated kazamat of the western curtain in the Brod Fortress. The permanent exhibition at the Tambura Museum showcases the history and evolution of the tambura from the 18th century to the present day.
The exhibition includes more than 60 handcrafted tamburas, along with numerous other exhibits, including photographs, documents, audio, and video recordings. The Tambura Museum in Slavonski Brod is an interactive museum where visitors can learn about the tambura and tambura music in a fun and engaging way.
Theatre and Concert Hall Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić

Theatre and Concert Hall Slavonski Brod is the largest and most prestigious performance space in Brod Posavina County The Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić Theatre and Concert Hall Slavonski Brod opened on 29 January 1972.
In addition to organizing theatre and music performances, the venue plays an integral part in three of Slavonski Brod’s most important and most popular annual manifestations – Dance Days, In The World of Fairytales and Brod’s Music Summer.
Galerija Ružić – Art gallery

The art gallery was established for the purpose of processing and presenting the donation of sculptor Branko Ružić and donations of contemporary Croatian sculptors and painters, as well as the presentation of works from the field of Croatian art and of narrower regional significance. The gallery uses the monumental space in the Brod Fortress and the gallery space in Starčevićeva Street.
Kej promenade

Along the river Sava is the famous promenade known as “Kaj”. River is a natural border between Croatia and Bosnia. We can see the bridge that connects the two countries.

Events in Slavonski Brod:
- Florafest takes place every May in Brod Fortress. Flower growers from all over Croatia come to show off their lovely flowers.
- Brodsko kolo is a folklore festival that takes place every June; it was first held in 1962. It is one of the largest folk festivals in the region of Slavonia.
- Pecenkijada takes place every October and is – get this – a massive pig roast! It is a very well-attended event.
