Everyone probably remembers the story of The Little Mermaid – through Walt Disney’s film adaptation. Interestingly, in the film adaptation the ending was changed – Ariel and the prince fall in love, get the long-awaited wedding and everything ends happily.
Tivoli Gardens


The Tivoli Gardens park has many attractions for both children and adults – including one of the oldest wooden roller coasters – Rutschebanen, opened in 1914. Tivoli Gardens is located in the heart of the capital of Denmark. This place offers: over 70 places to drink and eat, 32 attractions, including fast and slow queues, beautiful flowers (in spring, 85,000 tulips, 24,000 daffodils, 24,000 hyacinths and 20,000 other spring plants bloom in Tivoli ), 110,000 lanterns, classical and seasonal music concerts, artistic shows, fireworks, evening illuminations, pantomime, the Tivoli Boys Guard orchestra and rock concerts of international stars.
Amalienborg


Amalienborg is famous for its royal guard, known as The Royal Life Guard. Every day, you can watch the changing of the guards as they march from their barracks by Rosenborg Castle through the streets of Copenhagen to Amalienborg, often accompanied by music. The changing of the guard takes place at noon.
Amalienborg is made up of four identical buildings. These are Christian VII’s Palace (also known as Moltke’s Palace, used as a guest residence), Frederik VIII’s Palace (also known as Brockdorff’s Palace, home of His Majesty King Frederik X, Her Majesty Queen Mary, and their children), Christian IX’s Palace (also known as Schack’s Palace, home of Queen Margrethe II) and Christian VIII’s Palace (also known as Levetzau’s Palace, used as a guest palace for Prince Joachim and Princess Benedikte). It’s in this building you’ll find Amalienborg Museum.
Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek


Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is located in the center of Copenhagen and the museum collection consists primarily of works of art and archaeological objects from Ancient Egypt, the worlds of Ancient Greece and Rome, Etruscan Culture, as well as Danish and French art of the 19th century.
The modern part of the collection includes French sculpture from the 19th century – featuring a significant selection of works by Auguste Rodin – and French painting from 1800 to 1950, with Impressionism and Paul Gauguin as the absolute stars, plus a collection of Danish Golden Age Art.
Rosenborg


Rosenborg Castle was built by one of Denmark’s most famous kings, Christian IV, in the 17th century. The wonderful castle houses 400-year-old royal treasures, crown jewels and royal regalia. The main attractions of the castle include the Knights’ Hall with coronation thrones decorated with narwhal tusks, guarded by three life-size silver lions. Rosenborg is also home to the exquisite Flora Danica collection and one of the world’s best collections of Venetian glass, both housed in the tower chambers.
Christiansborg


Christiansborg – a former royal castle and until 1794 the seat of the kings of Denmark in Copenhagen, currently housing the Danish Parliament, the Folketing, government offices and museums. The castle complex is located on the island of Slotsholmen (“Castle Island”), which was the nucleus of Copenhagen in the Middle Ages.
Marble Church


The Marble church is beautifully located in a line with Amalienborg Palace and The Opera in the elegant area of Frederiksstaden. The official name of the church is Frederik’s Church, and the history of the church goes back to 1749 in connection with the grand plan making a new district called Frederiksstaden.
Langelinie


Langelinie is a pier, promenade and park in central Copenhagen, Denmark, where the Little Mermaid statue is located. The Ten Centuries Area is a destination for travelers and walks in Copenhagen. The most important destinations for travelers arriving in Copenhagen also dock at Langelinie Pier.

Nyhavn


Nyhavn is a must-visit destination in Copenhagen. It offers a blend of history, culture, dining, and scenic beauty. It is an iconic spot that perfectly captures the city’s charm and character. Nyhavn is a canal from the 17th century and is today a famous entertainment district in Copenhagen. National Museum of Denmark


The National Museum boasts a very large ethnographic collection, a collection of classical and Middle Eastern antiques, a collection of coins and medals, and a toy museum. You can also visit the Victorian Klunkehjemmet Apartment, virtually unchanged since 1890. Please note that it has different opening hours.The museum can be visited within an hour on a guided tour.
The Round Tower


In the center of Copenhagen, you will come across the 17th-century Round Tower with an observation deck offering stunning views of the city and distant Sweden. To reach the top you climb an internal spiral ramp without steps, designed so that in the old days horses and carts could take you to the library and observatory, but today children have great fun racing along the cobblestones. The tower also hosts annual unicycle races. Record round trip time so far: just under a minute and 50 seconds.
Church of the Holy Savior in Copenhagen



Our Saviour’s is one of Denmark’s most famous churches. Ever since the serpentine spire was inaugurated in 1752, is has been a popular passtime to climb the 400 steps to the top. Every year, more than 200.000 people climb the stairway to the top where Our Saviour stands on his globe and overlooks the royal city of Copenhagen.Our Savior’s Church’s iconic tower contains six large bells and a fantastic carillon which holds special meaning to Christianshavn. With as many as 48 bells, the carillon plays its delicate melodies over the neighbourhood daily.
Kastellet


Kastellet is a citadel in Copenhagen and one of the best-preserved fortresses in Northern Europe. It was built by Christian IV in 1624 as one of the defensive walls of Copenhagen. Today, Kastellet is the headquarters of the Home Guard, but the outer areas are still open to visitors.
