  • Bomhuset – a house from 1794, the oldest in the city. Customs fees were collected from merchants here when entering the city from the south. This house houses a museum of small-format art, the dimensions of which are no larger than 10 cm x 15 cm.

  • The church in the city center was built in 1907 in the neo-Gothic style on the site of a demolished old church. The church contains elements of an old Dutch altar from around 1510. The church clock plays chimes.
  • The sculpture “Woman in a Wheelchair” by Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti stands in the square in front of the old city hall. This sculpture, or rather the discussion around it in the 1960s, led to a change in the city’s residents’ view of the importance of art in urban architecture.
  • “Symphony of Colors” – a complex of colorfully illuminated fountains at night, at the entrance to the city from the direction of “Herning”. The world’s first permanent laser sculpture stands next to the transmitter of the local television station.
