Hvidovre is a city in eastern Denmark on the island of Zealand. The city is the seat of Hvidovre Municipality. Area: 22.84 km².

- A bit of history. In 1929, a 3,500-year-old Bronze Age sword was unearthed in Hvidovre. A few days before the end of World War II, in May 1945, street fighting broke out in the town of Hvidovre between the resistance movement and members of the auxiliary police (Hilfspolizei – HIPO).

- A bit of culture. The city is home to the Zentropa film studio, where Danish director Susanne Mara worked.

- Sport. Peter Schmeichel played in the Hvidovre IF football team and after finishing his career he bought his first professional football club – it was Hvidovre IF.
