Bonifacio is a town and commune in the Corse-du-Sud department in France, in the Corsica region. Bonifacio is an attractive town on the Strait of St. Bonifacio, consisting of two parts, Lower Bonifacio and Upper Bonifacio (located on the rocky southern coast of Corsica). From here, you can enjoy (in good weather) panoramic views of nearby Sardinia. Upper Bonifacio has a small defensive fortress and a cemetery from Napoleonic times. There are also several taverns serving local Corsican specialities.

- Citadel. This 15th-century structure is the highest bastion in France (25 m). Entry costs €2.50, but for €3.50 you can buy a combined ticket for the citadel and the Staircase of the King of Aragon. Inside the citadel there are exhibitions, former silos where food and water were stored during the siege of the city, and there are several great viewpoints on its roof. It is worth starting a tour of Upper Bonifacio by entering the citadel.

- The rocky shore of the Bonifacio area. Bonifacio is a town attractively situated on the Strait of Saint Bonifacio, consisting of two parts: Lower Bonifacio and Upper Bonifacio (located on the rocky southern coast of Corsica).

- Bonifacio Harbour

- A typical street in Bonifacio, France.

- Viewpoint from the lighthouse area. Standing in front of the great citadel wall, go left (east) instead of entering the Upper Town. The approach is not difficult or long. Several viewpoints are reached first by stairs, and then by paths surrounded by maquis. It is best to be there before noon, when the sun (in the summer season) shines from behind or from the side. Later in the day, the entire view will be against the sun. Nearby Sardinia is also clearly visible from the cliffs, to which a ferry sails from Bonifacio.
