Hello travelers. Another recommendable place in France is Nantes. Not just because of me. Let’s see what other tourists write about this place!

Nantes – a city in western France, a port on the Loire. It is a very appreciated city because in 2004, Nantes was recognized by Time Magazine as “The best city to live in Europe”. In 2018, Nantes was recognized by The Local and l’Express magazine as the best city to work in France. In 2019, Nantes also won the competition European Commission receiving the title of European Innovation Capital 2019. Due to the high standard of living and environmental protection, the European Commission awarded Nantes the title of Green Capital of Europe in 2013.
I wonder what tourists say about this place, let’s check…

“The castle made a huge impression on me. I walked around the walls, saw the courtyard, visited the museum. Very interesting, best to spend about 2 hours. It’s not worth buying an audio guide if you don’t know French. The museum is paid, the rest of the castle is available for free.” – tourist opinion.

Botanical Garden (Jardin des Plantes)

“Really impressive green space, well laid out for casual strolling among beautiful areas.
So much to see for any traveller’s interest, and a good chance of pace from seeing stone buildings throughout the city. Plenty of hidden areas to explore with a great children’s play area too.”- tourist opinion.

Les Machines de l’île – La Galerie des Machines (Machines from the island of Nantes – Machine Gallery)
“Very crowded place, but worth it! It’s worth taking a walk and seeing all the interesting machines. Of course, I liked the elephant statue the most. It is so big that it takes your breath away. It’s a bit difficult to get tickets and get close to the elephant, but it’s worth a try. Especially since the prices are really reasonable for this type of entertainment.” – tourist opinion.

Passage Pommeraye is a small shopping arcade in the center of Nantes.
“Always try and visit Passage Pommeraye when I’m in Nantes. The architecture is lovely, very ornate – it’s a light, airy passageway with lovely independent shops on either side of all the floors.” – tourist opinion.

Gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Nantes
“The Cathedral of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul in Nantes is a true architectural marvel. Its carved details and majestic facade reflect ancient times.” -tourist opinion.
What about beaches?
The vast majority of beaches in Nantes are located within or near housing estates. So be ready to experience less natural surroundings but more extensive infrastructure. Urban beaches often have a lively atmosphere and many amenities such as cafes and bars. Therefore, they are usually more popular with both locals and tourists. These beaches have their own charm and can offer a fun and convenient way to enjoy the sun and surf.
So, I invite you on a journey to these beautiful places. I wonder if you would agree with the opinions of our tourists?
