
Brittany is famous for its fabulous castles, atmospheric towns and beautiful landscapes. It is here that we can see the tallest lighthouse in Europe. There are plenty of natural attractions and beaches, both sandy and rocky.
Brittany is an administrative region in northwestern France, on the Breton Peninsula. The capital and largest city is Rennes:

Parlamento de Bretaña, Rennes
- Parlement on the former place Royal (royal square where there was a statue of King Louis XIV on horseback), currently place du Parlement de Bretagne. (1618-1655).

Palais Saint-Georges, Rennes
- Saint Georges Palace – Formerly home to Saint George’s Abbey
- Saint Georges swimming pool with beautiful Odorico mosaic.
- Saint Georges Street – This street existed already in 1270. It suffered little damage during the fire.

Palais du Commerce, Rennes
- Palace de Commerce – built in 1886-1889 according to the plans of the architect Martenot and Le Ray. Currently the post office building on Republic Square. The palace burned down in 1911 due to a storm. It was rebuilt only in 1928 according to previous plans.

Church of Notre Dame – Saint Melaine, Rennes
- Church of Notre Dame – Saint Melaine – next to Tabor Park: the first church was built here on the site of Saint Melaine’s grave in the 7th century. From 1787 to 1844 the church took over the role of the Cathedral.

Cathédrale Saint-Pierre Pierre à Rennes
- St. Cathedral Peter (St Pierre) – the first cathedral was built on this site in the 6th century. It fell into ruin in the 12th century and reconstruction began in 1180 thanks to the treasure that was found under the ruins of the old church. The entire construction was completed in the 14th century.
It is definitely worth visiting the maritime areas of Brittany. It’s specifically from Saint-Malo. Go there if you like beach holidays, both active and a bit more lazy. It is also a good destination for those looking for examples of interesting architecture and monuments.

Remparts, Saint – Malo
- Remparts – By way of the St Vincent gate you reach the ramparts that were begun in the 12C. Some houses are still intact after the bombings of 1944. Beyond the Great Gate you’ll find a view over the narrow isthmus which links the old town to the suburbs.

Dinan is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in France. Knightly traditions are still alive there:

Dinan Castle – Château de Dinan
- The 14th-century fortress, which is also the city gate, is one of the most important elements of the defensive walls surrounding the old town to this day. The castle houses a local museum presenting historical and ethnographic exhibitions. There is an observation deck at the top of the 34-meter-high Princess Anne Tower.

Rue du Jerzual, Dinan
- The Rue du Jerzual and Rue du Petit Fort are two streets in the centre of Dinan. It’s historic centre of city , with lots of buildings, monuments, shops and cafes to distract you.

La Côte de Granit Rose, Lacronan
- On the Pink Granite Coast you can fall in love with the colors of the local rocks. It is known that the color depends on the light, as the day progressed, the rocks changed color countless times. The rocks on the left and right and in front have a completely different color. You can admire shades of pink, beige, orange, in cool and warm tones. Of course, the main attraction here is the Ploumanac’h Lighthouse, officially the Men Ruz Lighthouse.
Another iconic lighthouse located near the town of Le Conquet:

- The perfectly situated lighthouse is a beautiful place to visit. During the cliff walk to the lighthouse, you can admire the town of Le Conquet opposite, and then relax on the beautiful sandy beach of Plage des Blancs Sablons.

Le Gouffre de Plougrescant
Le Gouffre de Plougrescant est une faille entre deux immenses rochers localisés dans le côté nord de la Bretagne. Il s’agit d’un fameux endroit dont la notoriété s’étend au-delà de la France, compte tenu des avis récoltés à son sujet. Offrant un cadre paradisiaque durant les beaux temps, ce gouffre résultant d’une activité magmatique d’il y a plusieurs millions d’années est surtout effrayant pendant les tempêtes et sous un temps venteux. En dehors de la taille de ses rochers vieux de plus de 600 millions d’années, le gouffre emblématique des côtes d’Armor est aussi réputé grâce à la petite maison entre les rochers basés sur place.
Brittany attracts with its specific culture and tradition. There are picturesque coastlines with small port towns and large cities full of monuments. This land delights with a mild climate and beautiful sunny beaches.
