Acharnes is a city located in the close region of Athens, approximately 12 km north of the capital. Acharnes is divided into two parts: the northern one, surrounded by the forest-covered Parnitha mountain range, and the southern one, which makes up most of the suburb itself. The city is also well supplied with public transport, with the Acharnes Railway Center providing the main connection point between the city and Athens. The Mountain Juktas

Mount Juktas was an important religious site for the Minoan civilization. Ancient authors believed the sacred, anthropomorphic Mount Juktas to be the tomb of Zeus. The Mycenean Tholos Tomb

The tomb of Tholos dates back to the 13th century BC. This grave most likely served as the resting place of members of some of the more famous families of that time. The most important artifacts from the excavations can be found in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. It is definitely worth coming here, just to see how such a structure has stood the test of time.

The Royal Estate of Tatoi is an area of historical significance for Greece, most notable for being the palace of the royal family for generations. Situated on the southeastern slopes of the imposing Mount Parnitha, the estate is estimated to be over 10000 acres of land, filled with beautiful pine trees.
The estate of Tatoi covers most of the area where the ancient Dekeleia used to be, a place known for its archaeological findings, as well as its importance during the Peloponnesian War in the 5th century B.C.
Archaeological Collection of Acharnes

The Archaeological Museum of Acharnes houses ancient artifacts. The collection presents the evolution of the city, its development from the late Neolithic to the Byzantine period, also collecting archaeological materials from surrounding cities.
