Aigio (ancient Aigeion, Aigion; Greek Αίγιο) is a city in Greece, in the decentralized administration of the Peloponnese, Western Greece, and the Ionian Islands, in the region of Western Greece, in the Achaea regional unit. It is the seat of the Aigialia municipality. In 2011, it had a population of 20,422. It is a tourist resort. One of the oldest cities in Greece. Founded in the time of Homer.

- Panagia Trypiti is the historic Holy Shrine of the Theotokos in the town of Aigio, Greece. It is one of the most important Orthodox pilgrimage sites in Greece. The shrine is dedicated to Our Lady of the Life-Giving Source. It is built on a steep cliff, almost 30 meters high, near the sea. The numerous and impressive miracles that occur through the intercession of Our Lady have made this church a national shrine in the minds of the faithful. Thousands of faithful from all over Greece come to Aigio every year on Good Friday to seek the grace of Panagia and receive her blessing. The 14th volume of the French monthly “Revue des deux Mondes” from 1876 mentions that this was a great celebration for the inhabitants of Aigion: “a grand local celebration in Aigion… The matinée, all habitants, men, women, men, s’y rendent en pèlerinage; they revive the assembly of the milieu des fusillades and des detonations des varellota.” The use of firecrackers on this day is even mentioned. On this day each year, a procession with the Holy Icon passes through the streets of Aigion, and it is an official religious holiday. The name Tripiti comes from the Greek word tripa, meaning hole, cave, because the miraculous icon of Panagia was found in a hole in the rock. In the vestibule of the church is a spring of water, which the faithful drink as a blessing, because it is believed to have miraculous effects.
- The Archaeological Museum of Aigion is a museum in Aigion, Greece, opened on August 6, 1994. The museum building, which originally housed the Aigion Municipal Market, is the work of the famous architect Ernst Ziller and was built in 1890. The museum contains six halls containing finds dating from the Neolithic to the Late Roman period.
- Selianitika is a seaside village in northern Achaea, Peloponnese, Greece. It is part of the Sympoliteia municipal unit. It is located 6 km northwest of Aigio and 26 km east of Patras, at an altitude of approximately 30 m above sea level. The villages of Selianitika and Longos share a pebble beach on the Gulf of Corinth, approximately 1.5 km long. Both villages are among the most popular summer resorts in Achaea. In 2011, the village had 902 inhabitants. Greek National Road No. 8 runs through the village and has an interchange with the Athens-Corinth-Patras highway. As part of the new Athens-Kiato-Patras railway line, the train station will be located south of the village.
