It is here that democracy, philosophy, theatre and the Olympics – the foundations of modern culture – were born.

Greece is an amazing place to travel. You will fall in love with its atmosphere. That’s why I presented some suggestions on how to spend your dream vacation in the capital of Greece, and I’m talking about Athens, of course.

Athens- the heart of ancient Greece

We begin our journey in Greece’s capital, Athens. This is the heart of ancient Greece, a place where history comes alive at every turn. The Acropolis, the symbol of the city, towers over the skyline, showcasing magnificent ancient ruins, including the Parthenon – the temple of Athena, the city’s providential goddess. The Acropolis is also a museum where the most precious monuments of Greek art are on display.

We then head to the island of Santorini, which welcomes us with white houses, blue domes and breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. Walks through the narrow streets of Oia or Fira overlooking the sunset are unforgettable. A cruise on the volcanic crater or relaxing on the red beaches add to the unique charm of the place.

Delphi – Temple of Prophecy

The next stop is Delphi, the place of worship of Apollo and the centre of spiritual knowledge of ancient Greece. Just off the slopes of Mount Parnassus is the sanctuary where priests issued prophecies and Delphi’s Oracles gave advice and guidance. The ancient ruins, theatre and views of the valley are sure to be memorable for any traveller.

Meteora and hanging monasteries

Meteora is a place where Orthodox monasteries rise on top of huge rock monoliths. These remarkable structures, built over centuries, seem to rise into the sky, creating an unforgettable sight.
