Iraklio (Greek: Ηράκλειο) is a city in Greece, in the Attica region, in the Athens North Sector regional unit. It is the seat and sole settlement of the Iraklio municipality. In 2011, it had a population of 49,642. It is located within the boundaries of Greater Athens.
