Hungarian cuisine is a matter of history and due to its eoraphic location, the history of Hungary and its geographical location have been derived from Slavic, Turkish and Magyar cuisine for centuries.


The basis of Hungarian dishes are seasonal vegetables: peppers, tomatoes and onions, as well as fruit, fresh bread, fish and meat of various species. Not only beef or pork, but also veal, rabbit, deer, wild boar and poultry. This cuisine uses a rich range of spices, such as peppers, garlic, onion and cumin.


The most popular dishes:
Goulash (Pörkölt)
Pörkölt Recipe it’s one of the most delicious stews, made with beef, onion, tomato. An important ingredient is paprika powder (Hungarian is said to be the best), red pepper and chili.

Hungarian pork loin
Braised pork loin cut into slices. Then you need to marinate it for a few hours in a mixture of classic spices and dill. This tender pork loin roast would make a perfect dinner gathering. Just add white potatoes and sweet potatoes around the roast and a vegetable, broccoli or brussel sprouts would complete this dish. The sauce is a perfect compliment to any pork dish.

Goulash soup
It’s basically a light stew. With more liquid and less meat.

Halászlé
Halászlé, a soup made of carp or other freshwater fish, poidores, peppers and onions, is considered one of the most delicious in the world. The whole is complemented by tomatoes, powdered and fresh pepper. Depending on the region of Hungary, the soup may have additional additions: pasta, potatoes, various varieties of peppers.

Langos
Langos is a type of pancake popular in Hungary. It is made from yeast dough and then deep-fried. They are served depending on your preferences: with sour cream, grated cheese, garlic butter, and even sugar.

Kürtőskalács
Kurtoszkołacz is a traditional Hungarian cake. Yeast dough wrapped on a rolling pin is baked over a glowing fire. The shape resembles a roller.

Drinks:
Tokaj
The famous Hungarian Tokaj is a white Hungarian dessert wine made from dried grapes. It is mainly dessert and sweet wine, but dry varieties are also produced. The best Tokajis include 5 Puttonyos Aszú, Royal Tokaji. It is made from grapes covered with noble rot. The bouquet clearly features the aroma of ripe apricot, mirabelle plum, quince, dried fig, honey and toffee.
Palinka
Among the stronger drinks, Palinka is chosen – it is a fruit brandy with a strength ranging from 35 to 70%. Fruit or pomace of plums, apples, pears, apricots and cherries are fermented.
