Terni delights with the beauty of waterfalls and streams and the lush greenery of forests that will delight every nature lover. It is said that Terni is the birthplace of Saint Valentine. For some, the first association with the “city of lovers” will probably be Paris, for others Verona. Meanwhile, the Italian town in the Umbria region, Terni, is called this because the patron saint of lovers – Saint Valentine – comes from there. What is there to like about this place? Nera River Park


- The Nera River Park, which among its many beautiful places also includes the majestic Marmore Falls. The 20 kilometers of clean, fresh water of the middle and lower reaches of the Nera River are the characteristic feature of this park. This area is dotted with small fortified settlements and castles that were built in the Middle Ages. Leaving Terni, you will come across Collestatte, Torre Orsina, Casteldilago, Arrone, Montefranco, Ferentillo, Macenano and Terria, all built to control strategically important crossroads.

Carsulae


- The archoloical site of Carsulae – The city of Carsulae was probably founded around the end of the 3rd century BC, with the conclusion of the Romanisation of Umbria, which was followed by the construction of the western part of the Via Flaminia in 220 BC. An amphitheater, forum, baths, temples were built. The population grew rich and lived in prosperity. The city probably declined in the early Middle Ages. For centuries, Carsulae was mainly used as a quarry for the production of building materials by nearby cities such as San Gemini, Acquasparta, Massa Martana, Terni. Since 2017, excavations have been carried out here.
Fausto Amphitheatre
