Spiral Tunnel

The Spiralen Drammen is an unusual helix-shaped tunnel located in Drammen. This unique road spirals from the riverside city streets, coiling up to a plateau that overlooks the industrial town of Drammen. With six spirals covering 1,649 meters (5,413 feet), the tunnel climbs from 50 meters (approximately 160 feet) to about 200 meters (approximately 656 feet) above sea level in six loops. The tunnel is a one-of-a-kind engineering marvel, having the shape of a helix, winding up the Bragernesåsen hill in six loops.

Ypsilon Bridge

The Ypsilon Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over Drammenselva in Drammen.The pedestrian bridge connects Kunnskapsparken, the science park of Grønland in Drammen with the city park on Bragernes. The Ypsilon Bridge is a modern landmark designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, this iconic cable-stayed bridge is an engineering marvel and a symbol of contemporary architecture in Drammen.

Church of Bragernes

Bragernes Church (Bragernes Kirke) is a parish church at Drammen. It was designed by Ernst Norgrenn (1839-1880) in Neo Gothic style and built of brick. It was consecrated in 1871. The old Bragernes church (Gamle Bragernes kirke) was west of Bragernes square. Built in 1708, it burned down in 1866.

Aass Brewery

Aass Brewery is Norway’s oldest brewery and was established in 1834, when the very first beer was bottled. A few years later, Paul Lauritz Aass took over the operation of the brewery, and since then the leadership of the brewery has passed from generation to generation in the Aass family. Today, the brewery is run by the fifth generation of Aass, by Christian A. Aass.
