Greenock

Greenock is a port city located in western Scotland on the Clyde River, in the county of Inverclyde. Population: 45,467. The origin of the city’s name is not clearly established. One possible version derives the name of the city from green oaks. Another derives the name of the city from a corruption of the Celtic words Grian Cnoc meaning sunny hill.
