Marbella is a city located in southern Spain, on the Mediterranean Sea. It is located about 47 km from the center of Malaga, on the outskirts of its agglomeration. Due to its tourist attractions, it is one of the most visited resorts on the Costa del Sol.

- Within the city and its vicinity there are 27 municipal beaches with different characteristics. The beaches of Marbella from the east and neighboring Mijas are: Cabopino, Artola, Las Cañas, Merendero, Las Chapas, Nikki Beach, La Vibora, Elviria, Real de Zaragoza, Alicate and Los Monteros. The central beaches of Marbella are El Pinillo, Bounty Beach, adjacent to the port Del Cable and Bajadilla, Venus, Faro by the lighthouse and Fontanilla. On the west coast of Marbella, up to the borders of Estepona there are: Casablanca beach, Nagüeles, Del Ancón in the prestigious neighborhood of the Golden Mile, Rio Verde, Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia, Cortijo Blanco, San Pedro de Alcantara and Guadalmina.

- Marbella has an old town, called Casco Antiguo, located around the Castillo de Marbella from the 11th and 13th centuries, representing the Andalusian architecture style. Its focal point is the Orange Square, built in the Renaissance, around which there are other historic buildings – the city hall built in the 15th century and the Mayor’s House (17th century)[6].
- On the Avenida del Mar, which is one of the most popular pedestrian streets in the city, there is an open-air sculpture gallery, the main attraction of which are the works of Salvador Dalí.In the area and on the outskirts of the city you can find remains of the cultures that in the past inhabited the areas of Andalusia – Phoenicians, Romans and Moors, including the Las Bóvedas baths and the Puente Romano bridge, which in the 1st century AD was part of the Via Augusta, the road from Rome to Cadiz.


- Marbella was named “Best European Destinations 2022” in a poll organized by a Belgian travel portal, in which internet users from 182 countries cast their votes. It came second in the vote, just behind the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
- In 1982, the first mosque built in Spain since the Reconquista and the end of the Arab presence in the 15th century was opened here.

- The city is served by Malaga Airport, 40km to the east.
- The city is home to a football club, Marbella FC, which plays in the Spanish Segunda División B, the third tier of football leagues in Spain.
