Tenerife: Holidays, beaches, attractions, entertainment

Tenerife is one of the most wonderful and most frequently visited Canary Islands. The sun is here all year round, so last minute trips to Tenerife are a good idea for a holiday at any time of the year. The south of Tenerife is warmer and has wide, sandy beaches located in coves. The cooler north is dominated by greenery and steep, rocky coastlines. In addition to sunbathing and water sports, it is worth exploring other attractions: aqua parks, wonderful parks with sea creatures and animals, or stan at the foot of the main vulcano Teide.

Tenerife is a volcanic island belonging to Spain, located in the Atlantic Ocean. Tenerife is part of the Canary Islands archipelago and region. Located near the north-west coast of Africa, together with the archipelago it is part of Macaronesia. It is the largest and most populated island in the archipelago and the most populous Spanish island.

Holidays in Tenerife mainly include places such as Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, Puerto de la Cruz and Costa Adeje.

Playa de las Americas is the largest and most entertaining tourist resort in Tenerife. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, pubs and discos here. Beautiful sandy beaches and amazing nature make Tenerife an excellent place for tourists.

The popular tourist resort of Los Cristianos with fantastic beaches is located on the southern part of the island near Playa de Las Américas. The town offers all attractions and amenities necessary for a comfortable holiday, from a beautiful beach, through many restaurants and a variety of accommodation facilities.

Puerto de La Cruz -The region is located in the north-west of Tenerife, where the heat is not as severe as in other parts of Tenerife. This is a place with much more vegetation than in the south, but as a result of the volcanic eruption the landscape here is lunar. This part of the island is home to many lizards that can be seen lounging on the roads. There are many endemic species here – plants that do not grow anywhere else in the world and are under strict protection. There are black sand beaches in this area. You can visit the Nature Reserve with the largest volcanic peak, Tejde. The crystal clear water creates great conditions for water sports and glass-bottom boat cruises to admire the wonderful marine world.

Costa Adeje is a resort eagerly visited by tourists. There are several spacious, artificially marked beaches (including Playa Fanabe and Playa del Duque), the sand of which is brought from the Sahara itself. In this area, tourists can find shopping centers, pubs, restaurants and a 16-kilometer promenade stretching from Costa Adeje through Playa de Las Americas to Los Cristianos.
