Kusadasi: Beaches, attractions, monuments

Kusadasi is a typical tourist city and is famous for its beautiful beaches and clear water and, of course, restaurants serving the best fish dishes. Beaches with golden sand and crystal clear water attract sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts. Location

Kusadasi is located on the coast of the Aegean Sea. Until recently it was a fishing village and today it is a famous tourist resort. A city in the southwestern part of Turkey, located between Izmir and Bodrum. City is a great base for visiting places such as: ancient Ephesus, the city of Pirene, the island of Samos.

Ancient Ephesus

While on holiday in Kusadasi, you can come to nearby Efes. This is an amazing ancient city (9th century BC), which is one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the whole world. It would be great to see the Agora, the Libraries of Celsus or sit in the gigantic Grand Theater. As well as Trajan’s Fountain, Hadrian’s Temple, the Odeon and the Roman baths.

Güvercinada Island

Güvercinada is connected to Kusadasi by a breakwater. Island, which is of great strategic importance for the Genovese, was used against the Mora rebellion during the Ottoman period to prevent attacks from the islands. It also hosts a castle called Güvercinada Castle on Güvercinada. The castle, which dates back to the Byzantine period, took its final shape during the renewal of the island during the Ottoman period.

In Güvercinada, where there is a water cistern outside the castle, today extensive landscaping has been done and a cafeteria and restaurant have been opened on the island. Adding a special beauty to Kusadasi’s values, Güvercinada is illuminated at night.

Dilek National Park

Dilek Kusadasi National Park is an exceptionally beautiful nature where all the plants on the coasts stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Caucasus grow naturally. It contains unique turquoise coves, botanical gardens, wildlife and underwater beauty.

The peninsula, which is a Nature Museum, has been taken under protection by the Council of Europe as a “Flora Biogenetic Reserve Area”. Many of the plant and animal species found in the Dilek Peninsula National Park are indigenous to the area.

Adaland Aquapark

Adaland Aquapark in Kusadasi is the largest water park in Turkey Adaland in Kusadasi. It is ideal for families with children. Kamikaze slides, black holes, slides on pontoons and mattresses, paddling pools with slides for children are just a few of the many attractions in the Aquapark. The complex is divided into 3 sections: aquapark, dolphinarium and seapark.

There are separate tickets for the dolphinarium and sea park. Swimming with dolphins is great fun a dolphin show that will appeal not only to the youngest. The approximately one-hour show includes individual and group shows of dolphins and performances by extremely funny seals. Come and check it out – it will be great fun!

Bazaar in Kusadasi

In the bustling bazaar you can find handmade carpets, ceramics, jewelry and other works of art. Many of these items are the result of skills passed down from generation to generation, making them not only beautiful souvenirs, but also an important part of Turkish cultural heritage. Remember to mark up – sellers deliberately raise prices a bit.
