Anıtkabir



Anıtkabir (meaning memorial tomb), is the mausoleum of Mustafu Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish leader during the War of Independence and the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey. The mausoleum was featured on many Turkish banknotes between 1966–1987 and 1997–2009.
Museum of Anatolian Civilizations


The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, which houses original works of Anatolian lands from the Paleolithic era. The structure consists of two historical buildings – Mahmutpaşa Bedesten and Kurşunlu Han, which are buildings from the Ottoman period. Restored and renovated in 2014.
Kocatepe Mosque


The Kocatepe Mosque is the largest mosque in Ankara and also one of the largest in the world. Built between 1967 and 1987. Turkish mosque creates a safe environment and it can accommodate up to 24,000 worshipers at the same time. The building can be seen from anywhere in Ankara and is one of the most characteristic tourist attractions.
Castle Ankara

Ankara Castle is a medieval fortress located on a hill overlooking the capital. The castle dates back to Roman times and was expanded over the centuries by the Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans. The building witnessed the rich history of Ankara and is now a valuable monument and a popular tourist attraction.
Rahmi M. Koc Museum Ankara


The Ankara Rahmi M. Koc Museum is the first industrial museum in Ankara, opened to visitors in 2005. The museum, located in the At Pazarı area, consists of two main buildings, Çengelhan and Safranhan. The museum has become an internationally renowned cultural institution, hosting some of the most valuable examples of the world’s industrial heritage in the form of three separate museums and one museum. Haci Bayram Mosque

Hacı Bayram Veli Camii is a mosque in old Ankara. Together with the Kocatepe Mosque, it is one of the most famous mosques in Ankara. Hacı Bayram Mosque was built during the Ottoman Empire. It was named after the Turkish Sufi and poet Hacı Bayram-ı Veli on behalf of the latter.
Ulucanlar Prison Museum

Ulucanlar Prison was one of the most famous prisons in Turkey. Ulucanlar Prison was founded in 1925 and until its closure in 2006 served as a maximum security prison where the most dangerous criminals as well as key prisoners were held. The prison was renovated and reopened as a museum on June 16, 2011. It contains original graffiti and murals on the walls, and all items on display are original. Museum It’s located in the heart of Ankara just a short walk east of Ankara Castle.
